As the wine that was the inspiration for Turton Wines’ founding, Georgian wine continues to have unrivalled breadth. Widely acknowledged as the origin of wine as we know it, Georgia began production over 8,000 years ago and has sites of ancient winemaking with protected status from UNESCO. Famed for their ancient Qvevri winemaking method and the ability to not only produce superb red, white and orange dry wines, but superb and quintessentially Georgian semi-sweet wines of all types.
This classic dry sparkling wine from Bagrationi is made from 3 indigenous white grape varieties grown in the Kartli region near the capital Tbilisi. Chinuri, Tsitska and Rkatsiteli grapes are vinified using the Charmat method for a delicious and characterful wine which showcases the floral aromatics and vivacity of their terroir and grapes. Fresh aromas of citrus, peach and green apples before a light, crisp palate. It is delicious with canapes, tempura, calamari and crispy fried chicken.
Bagrationi is the leading sparkling winemaker in Georgia, with a distinguished history dating back to 1882 when the company was founded by the Georgian prince Ivan Bagrationi-Mukhraneli.
